In this Times article, Lorna Tilbian comes out in defence of Katie Potts and Herald Investment Trust as they face a hostile campaign from Saba Capital. She describes Potts as “a ‘bad weather’ friend to her portfolio companies, always there at the darkest hour when other short-term traders are running for the hills.”
Herald’s recent struggles coincide with the rise of passive funds and the mega-tech companies, mirroring the challenges facing the UK small-cap sector as a whole. The removal of Potts from Herald would represent an even greater setback for fostering successful emerging businesses.
